Thirteen years ago, Chad and I were given the best early Christmas present we could have ever imagined. Chase was born on this day in 1995.
So today also means we have a teenager in the house. Wow. We've been talking about this day for - well...13 years. I can't believe how fast it came.
Chase was the cutest baby I've ever seen. Not because I'm his mom. He really was beautiful. And I mean, right from birth.
He constantly amazes us with his compassion, his humor, his charm, his intelligence, his wonderful creativity, his stunning good looks, his maturity when it comes to babysitting his brothers, his loyalty to his friends, his work on being nice to little brother : ), his athletisism, his ability to teach himself the drums in one day, his drive in being three belts away from a black belt, his dedication to hockey, and now football, and for a time, both at the same time. His good nature, his comedy, his talent for snowboarding, skiing, wakeboarding, his love of camping, adventure, travelling, trying new foods, his admiration for his dad, his desire to be a doctor, an artist, AND a professional hockey player.
Also, this year he was given Honorable Mention for his grades (he ALMOST made the honor roll - which was a HUGE accomplishment from last year).

Happy Birthday Chase! I remember you sitting in our front room in SLC and your mommy would tell you to "be cute", which you did and you had it nailed! I have video of you at Megan's baby shower too when you were 2 and I can't believe how fast 13 years went by. You are so lucky to have such great parents and family. I look forward to seeing you become a doctor, artist and pro hockey player. Have a great day buddy!

Happy Birthday Chaster! We are so lucky to have you in our family...you've been a joy since day one. It seems like yesterday that you used to have sleepovers at our house before we had kids and you would wear your Scooby Doo pj's. I also see you're wearing your "tip top" in one of the pictures. You always had that tank top on under your clothes and would strip down to it any chance you got :) Thank you for being such a good example to your cousins. We all think you are one amazing person and always have. One nice, very together fellow. Please let us sit behind the bench just once when you are in the NHL. I like the idea of a medical degree after that. A pro puckman who can straighten out his own nose! Cool!
