To fill my girl-less void, I had two of my neices Sydney and Olivia over for a girl's night. We had such a great time! It started off with trips to Rite Aide for pedicure paraphernalia, then to Blockbuster for a video, which was in a category that has never EVER been rented on our account in the history of time...a tween girlie movie, "A Cinderella Story". It was bizarre and invigorating all at the same tme. Anybody who knows me knows that I'm a very girlie girl (well, except for the burping - that's the guy in me), but everything else, is all pink and butterflies. So needless to say, I've been yearning to do the things that mothers of daughters do. Of course, I picture it all nails, hair, giggling, shopping, decorating and cooking. I know in the real world it's not exactly perfect, but still. Like the fact that I pictured us buying like 12 different shades of pink nail polish . But, after leaving with a two different blues, one green and an orange, I realized that even if I had three or nine girls, there's a very good chance that I would still be buying all blue and green. How ironic. Also, on our way home, we rescued a lost dog and brought him home to join our sleep-over. When we found him he had a "Spaghetti O" on his head, so we named him "Chef" (for Chef Boy RD). Of course, he then became "patches", "Shiloh", and I can't remember what else. We ended up finding his owners in the morning. He was a she and her name was really "Snickers". Her owners were so happy to see her.
Anyway, the rest of that night consisted of Panda Express, lots of orange chicken, blue/green/orange fingers and toes, jumping on the trampoline, almost 2 hours of Hillary Duff, popcorn, cookies, one 3 year old boy falling on his head, one 12 year old boy being very elusive, two love sacs squished with 4 human beings, and lots of fun. I definitely got my girl fix and I hope we do it again soon.
