4th of July at Jackson Hole

Julian streaking at Old Faithful...look closer.

Our pictures were on Chad's computer when the hard drive died, so you'll have to imagine the fun we had until I can coax some pictures out of our friends to put up here. In the meantime, enjoy the one picture that did turn out. (No comments on my poor cut and pasting skills - thank you).

Anyway, our good friends Cody & Becky were kind enough to invite us to stay with them and another couple of friends, Becca & Kevin for the weekend in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The kids got to see a parade, catch some beads, do TONS of swimming out at the pool. We BBQ'd with all the kids and watched an amazing firework show up over the Tetons. Then then got to spend a little adult time out on the patio. The second day, Becca's mom and dad were awesome enough to invite us to come out for a day on the lake with them. They have a huge, beautiful boat and it was actually a very relaxing day because the kids could play down below in the living area of the boat while Chad and I relaxed up top with the other adults. Becca's mom provided the entire lunch and was a great hostess. Then we went back to the condo and had some yummy sushi with Becky, Cody, Jase and Chelsea. The sushi-poopers had chinese food.

On the way home we went through Yellowstone and had some fun adventures there, which included one car wrapped around a tree (don't worry, not ours), one crazy woman petting a buffalo, then getting in trouble with the park ranger, one truck almost running over, then fighting Chad, and one police report.

After all that we were heading home late, so we decided to get a room in Pocatello. Then we did a little drive down memory lane through Logan for some nostalgia and Aggie Ice Cream for our final adventure. It was a great weekend.

The kids had SUCH a great time! Chad and I enjoyed ourselves too, but I have to be honest, it was a lot of work. Not exactly a relaxing vacation. But this was one that we did for the kids, so it was a huge success.

Except of course that our pictures are gone. : ( Picture us happy, frustrated, sunburned, drinking beer, driving, (not while drinking the beer of course), swimming, eating, Old Faithful, Julian naked, The Waltons, The Pickens, The beautiful Tetons, lots of deer and buffalo, probably more of Julian naked, etc.

Oh! And remember to put my make-up on before you take the mental pictures okay? Thanks.

That sounds like a lot of fun. That sucks you lost your pictures! Can't Chad work his computer magic and get them back??

We are thinking of doing a road trip to Yellowstone in august and them coming down to SLC. Are we crazy?
